Announcements can be submitted for posting on this web page and in the SWPA e-newsletters. Web site announcements will remain online for 3 months, or less if they become out of date (e.g. announce a meeting that has already occurred).   Postings will be approved by members of the Executive Council prior to being placed on the web site.


Dues-current members will not be charged for announcements, except those for job position openings or announcements consisting of retail or professional service related advertisements.  For example, announcements about conferences, graduate programs, post doc positions, or speaker events would have no charge. The job position openings and retail or professional service related advertisements cost $50.
 
Departments or other psychology-related organizations and businesses may post announcements for $50.
 
To submit your announcement, send it to webmaster@swpsych.org.  Payment can be made by check to the Secretary-Treasurer.

Call for Papers: Special (Digital Pathologies) Issue of the Journal of Educational Computing Research

The Journal of Educational Computing Research is seeking to publish a special issue entitled Digital Pathologies: Education and problematic computer behaviors. This issue will have as broad a scope as possible with respect to educational issues surrounding Internet addictions, computer game addictions, cyberbullying, online sexual predation, sexting, cyberstalking, pro-ana and pro-mia (eating disorder) groups, and other digital pathologies. In doing this the journal aims to not only advance the state of knowledge in this general area but to bring disparate research agendas together in one place to encourage the evolution of synergistic connections.
