SWPA States

SWPA, Psi Chi, and SAMR abstracts were accepted between October 12, 2009 through 11:59:59PM on November 30th, 2009.  SCPA abstracts will be accepted through Dec 31, 2009.  TPA abstracts will be accepted through Jan 10, 2010.

---------------------------------------------------

This year, all abstracts (SWPA and all adjunct organizations) will use the online abstract submission process.

All authors and co-authors for SWPA abstracts must be current dues-paid members of SWPA (full, student, or associate) in the database at the time of abstract submission.  Your dues status will be shown after you login.   Follow the instructions on the web pages "Create New Profile" and "Pay Dues and Registration" prior to going through the "Submit Abstract" steps.  (Convention registration does not need to be paid prior to abstract submission.)  Authors cannot be added after the deadline due to non-payment by the deadline.

Authors / co-authors for abstract submissions to adjunct organizations (Psi Chi, SAMR, SCPA, TPA) can be SWPA members or non-members.  They do not have to be SWPA dues current in order to submit abstracts to the adjunct organizations.  See adjunct organization submission guidelines for their member requirements (e.g. you must be a member of Psi Chi in order to submit Psi Chi abstracts).

Note: if you want to take advantage of the bundle discount for SWPA member dues and registration ($5 decrease in dues), then both must be paid at once prior to the SWPA abstract submission deadline.  Even without the bundle, SWPA dues-plus-registration costs ($75 regular members, $50 associate members, and $40 student members) are lower than non-member registration costs ($90).

After logging in as a member or a non-member, follow the online steps for abstract submission.  There will be a step to indicate the organization to which you desire your abstract to be submitted (SWPA, Psi Chi, SAMR, SCPA, TPA), and the program chair for that organization will receive your abstract for review.  The SWPA program chair will coordinate with the adjunct organization chairs to build the final program for the SWPA convention.

Prior to submitting your abstract, make sure you have read and followed the submission guidelines posted on this web site.  Different types of presentations (talks/posters, symposia, SWPA competitions) have different abstract guidelines.  All Psi Chi submissions should follow the guidelines for the regular SWPA talks and posters, not for the SWPA student competitions (which have much longer required abstract lengths).
